2007 ...in the books!

Here's another bump picture taken Christmas day (17 weeks 4 days).

It's New Years Eve and I've come to realize that this is our last one to spend together without having to line up a babysitter months in advance (...so Mom, whatcha doing um, say a year from tonight?) Of coarse we have no plans tonight, because really, what's there to do when you're 4 1/2 months pregnant and can barely keep your eyes open past 9:30pm?!? It's just a small price to pay for what lies ahead!

About a week ago I felt the baby move for the first time. Of coarse it's never really clear weather it's the baby or, to put it politely, indigestion ...although I have experienced the later before which is why I believe what I felt was in deed my little one doing summersaults as an exercise regimen. I've felt it many times since but unfortunately haven't been able to share it with Mike yet because they just aren't strong enough ...his time will come.

Next week is our 19th week check up and, hopefully soon to follow, our second ultrasound which will tell the progress of the baby's growth and the sex. We'll keep you posted!

Christmas with the Nelson's

Here are some pics of baby Nelson's cousin's, who we spent a couple of days at the Farm with over the weekend. First picture is Christian, first born and well into his teen years. He's a great big help with the girls who follow as Lia with dad, Mike's brother Pat and the Miss "Pretty In Pink" Kendyl with Mom, Cindy. Their baby cousin can't wait to come out and play with them!

Week 16 -- There's been a pooch sighting!

I'm not fat, I'm pregnant!!!

With some coaxing from my BFF, Krista, I decided to post my first belly shot. The books say I may start to feel my baby's first flutters -- "butterflies"-- at this point, but nothing yet. I'll keep you posted!

14 Weeks

Today, finally, Mike and I were able to hear our little one's heartbeat. We had been anxiously awaiting this appointment for weeks and now we can rest assure, there is indeed a little one on the way. Besides that (which is pretty huge) theres not much else to report except that I'm pretty sure it's offical ...I've got a pooch. According to my chart I only gained 3lbs in the first trimester but try telling that to my jeans! Sweat pants have never looked so good these days!

My intension is to post the first belly shot the week of Christmas, so keep an eye out for it. I won't have any updated "doctor" news until the first of the year and at that time we should find out baby's sex too!

Happy Holidays everyone!

Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving we traveled to Virginia to see my sister's family and to meet the newest member of our family, Maximillion Randolph Shea. I tell you what, after spending a few days with my nephews I have to say I'm looking forward to this "mommy" thing. They are both such wonderful children that I can only hope it runs in the genes!

I've recently noticed that I have a small little pouch growing but it's certainly not enough to post a photo yet (...for all I know it could be all the beer I consumed over the summer). I would assume by Christmas I should be confident enough to post my first belly shot ...but we'll see. The fatigue has finally let up, I only wish I could say the same for the nausea. It only comes in waves and doesn't last very long, so I really can't complain (...even though I sometimes do).

My next doctor's appointment is December 4th so I'll send another update then.

This Just In: Nelsonator III to Debut, Summer 2008!

At officially 12 weeks, we are happy to announce....our future addition to our family! Nelsonator III is expected to arrive May 30, 2008.

Aside from some nausea and some killer fatigue, mom is feeling good so far. Our first ultrasound showed a healthy heartbeat, but it's too soon to say whether the bambino in my belly is an "Adam" or "Eve".

Stay tuned for updates....we look forward to sharing our progress with you!
